Why play with the lives of naive animals? This is a common question that comes up whenever we come across dog rescue stories. It’s embarrassing that some people don’t pay attention to the lives of other creatures like dogs. For example, the story of this mother dog… It was the image of a poor mother dog found on the roadside, weak and near her last breath. For several days this mother dog was taken with the children to find a safe place to warm up in the hopes of someone helping out. Yes, but not everyone has been helped. A local resident called rescuers and said the dog was barely moving. It was said that the dog had a puppy, but as the days passed, passersby took the puppy away from its mother, thinking that it would not survive and that it would be best to keep a puppy. Mother dog Berry couldn’t do anything about it. She was paralyzed by a bullet in the spine.
After rescuing her, they took her to a veterinary hospital, hoping to give her a second chance. She was given pain relievers and some antibiotics. On examination, doctors said the bullet had severely damaged her spinal cord, affecting her movements. “Stiff like a tree branch,” they described her legs.
This puppy was not in very good condition. Not only did she suffer from paralysis, but she also became infected with mastitis and intestinal parasites.
We can only imagine the pain and stress this mother dog is going through. Besides, she also lost a puppy. Like any mother, parting with children is one of the hardest things to do. The universe really tested this dog mother and her savior. They didn’t seem to find a place to rest, and things were starting to look a little gloomy for Berry. But her rescuers did not abandon her and continued to fight for her survival.
On the fifth day with them, her condition began to deteriorate. The blood infection and the current situation were life threatening for this poor mother dog. Her current hospital could not treat her properly, so she had to take her to Moscow to be treated.
In the hands of a skilled surgeon, Berry’s operation went smoothly when he thought all hope was gone! They have removed the pus and gangrene and she will also receive chemotherapy. Although she’s not the best yet, that’s good news. Gradually, this mother dog developed an appetite for food and life. But they had to face another obstacle. They found out that Berry had uterine disease and had to be sterilized before chemotherapy.
It’s hard for a human to handle such a thing, but what about a dog that doesn’t fully understand what’s going on? It is very important to be close to them as if you were treating them with friends or family and to help them feel safe during the healing process. Dogs like Berry need special care and compassion. We always want people to be ready to help dogs anywhere in the world. Day by day, Berry walked the path of healing. Despite paralysis of her hind legs, she was finally able to stand on her own. Her rescuers said she had escaped from the clutches of her death and had a second chance in her life! They couldn’t be happier. In an instant, all hope seemed to have disappeared. After 150 days of intensive grooming, Berry is finally able to go out and socialize with the other dogs. Her rescue team plans to build a custom wheelchair to make it easier for her to move around. Neither her paralyzed hind legs nor anything can stop her. Let’s talk about strong will.
