In fact, there are several dogs that seem to be really smart and easy to train, even if they have to perform difficult tasks such as service dogs for example. Across the country, dedicated professionals train animals, primarily dogs, to help people with medical and developmental challenges. It’s a long process, but when done right, these animals can feel what their humans are feeling and help them no matter what. When a German shepherd puppy named Ryker showed up at the Double H Dog Training Academy in Louisville, Kentucky, they thought training him would be a piece of cake.

Double H is also a special training school. They don’t follow a training formula because they believe every dog is different. They also say that their philosophy is that all dogs can be trained. When the Double H employees realised they had their work to do, they decided to try something different. Instead of getting water bottles, they decided to go to another assignment to see how Ryker was doing.

A service dog will walk slowly with their human, helping to get between the obstacles. Surely Ryker wanted to do that. However, it turned out that there were two delicious and fun tennis balls. Ryker chased after them and even the trainer couldn’t help but laugh. The Double H people weren’t ready to give up on Ryker just yet. They were trying to teach him how to open the fridge but the dog simply got so exciting and did not to the job in the right way.

They also tried to teach Ryker how to help their human by guiding and pulling their wheelchair. This was a task the pup was eager to try, but he got too excited and went too fast. It’s hard to tell if, by the end, they were training him or having fun with the dog. Ryker may not have what it takes to make it as a fullytrained service dog, but what he lacks in that skill he makes up for in spirit. This German Shepard is a happy, energetic, and friendly pup who will bring years of joy, laughter, and happy memories to whomever he ends up with. Ryker may not be a service dog, but he’s a great friend.
