It is always preferable to adopt a new pet from a shelter. It’s an opportunity to give a homeless or abandoned animal a second chance in life. When you rescue an animal, it’s not uncommon for them to return the favour. That’s what one man discovered when his new pets came to his rescue. Robert McGowan discovered two pit bulls in a local shelter. The dogs had a hard life and were abandoned, according to The Dodo.
Pit bulls are the most popular breed of dog discovered in shelters, and their reputation for being aggressive dogs deters many from adopting them. Robert, on the other hand, was moved by the dogs’ plight and adopted them, naming them Ellabelle and Ladybug. He provided them with a caring environment, and the pit bulls turned out to be kind and sociable dogs. However, the dogs recently revealed their true nature in a recent event.
Robert was in his garage one night when he was unexpectedly approached by four strangers. They hit him in the face, giving him a black eye, and planned to steal his car. They demanded the keys, which Robert informed them were already inside. They had no idea what else they’d uncover in there. The two pit bulls suddenly came to their owner’s aid, barking and drove the assailants away.
Robert told The Dodo, “They chased them out.” “My daughters dashed into the garage and surrounded me.” “They stood there barking, clearly indicating that no one was going to hurt me any longer.” “The four individuals took off.” Despite the breed’s reputation, Robert claims that the dogs are polite and non-aggressive but they won’t hesitate to defend their loved ones if they are threatened. It’s a touching story of how devoted and caring rescue dogs can be. Let us know your opinion, and do not forget to spread out the moving story on social media.
